"At National General, only you set limits on how far you want to go. Strive for excellence, pursue education and continue learning, and upper management will definitely take notice,” says Network Analyst II, Andrew Ohanian. And Andrew has definitely set his bar high! “I have been with National General since May 2018, and in that time I have grown both professionally and personally. National General has given me projects that push me, while offering a very supportive team, training opportunities, and attentive and supportive leadership. They’ve also given me opportunities to accelerate my career growth by supporting my Cisco certifications and training me on new software. The sky is the limit here in terms of areas of technologies I can support and become an expert in.”
Last week, Jamie Ortegon celebrated five years with National General Insurance. According to Jamie, “It has been great to work for National General Insurance. They have been able to provide me with mobility and flexibility in my work that I couldn’t get anywhere else. I’ve been given so many opportunities and so much guidance professionally, and I couldn’t think of making my home anywhere else.” Jamie encourages new employees to use the resources provided to them. “Everyone is happy to answer questions. Ask and people will guide you. There are tons of resources National General offers, including gaining insight from your co-workers and mentors, as well as utilizing our online learning platforms and professional development opportunities.”
District Sales Manager, Joe Simpson, not only sees potential for himself at National General but also his team and the customers we serve. “At National General, I have been given the opportunity to grow as an individual while also assisting my team members’ growth as we collaborate and analyze results for our future success. It's an environment which fosters the best creative solutions for our clients' unique needs.”
Challenging work, increasing responsibilities, & learning new things are what has kept Nick Smith, sales analyst, with National General since he graduated college. “National General gave me a career and has allowed me to grow so much in a short time, I couldn’t ask for more. This was my first job out of college & it gave me an environment where I could develop my abilities in database management & analytics. When I stepped into the role, I had little knowledge of SAS, SQL, Qlikview, & other tools I currently use. I was guided in building out reports for departments all over the company as I learned current & upcoming processes. Any time I was ready for more responsibility, I was awarded greater tasks so that my skill set could keep growing. I eventually transitioned to focusing support on the sales team & improving their growth & production. At four years in, I am happy with my deep involvement in the company & the trust that leadership has placed in me. I have been able to see so many of the moving parts of the company and it is amazing how cohesive everything is."

National General and all of our employees have a deep desire to build something of value, to help others, and to somehow, in some way or another, change the world a bit by doing so. It feels great to do work that I know is helping people.â

Tracy Brogowski, claims specialist, is one of those shining star examples of what National General can do for you. With 28 years of experience with National General and a career working her way up from a starting position as a mail clerk, Tracy shows exactly what a career with National General can be. “National General has set me free. This company has given me the confidence to go out of my comfort zone with more public speaking and the opportunities to mentor my peers. National General is my work family and families are there to support each other - which is exactly what my management team and peers do. I have gone from being a quiet and shy person to an individual National General can count on. 20 years ago, I wouldn’t have imagined myself speaking on a video or being confident enough to handle a mediation, but National General has helped me grow. I was hired as a mail clerk and have since advanced my career in the claims department. National General really has so much to offer both the customers and the employees!”
