The Travis Mills Foundation formed to benefit and assist post 9/11 veterans who have been injured in active duty or as a result of their service to our nation. The veteran and their families receive an all-inclusive, all-expenses paid, barrier-free vacation to Maine where they participate in adaptive activities, bond with other veteran families, and enjoy much-needed rest and relaxation in Maine’s great outdoors. Last week, Optics 1 President & CEO, Bob Lachance, USMC, Ret., Business Development Manager, Tim Brauch, USAF, Ret., and Facility Manager, Travis Storm, headed to Maine to present their $7,500 donation and met with Vice President of Programming, Kelly Roseberry and her incredible team. House in the Woods is a non-profit organization that offers outdoor programs to bring together small groups of active military, veterans, and their family members to relax, share, bond, and deal with the stress, loss, grief, and other emotions which can haunt the grieving soul. Founded by Paul and Dee House after their son, Sgt. Joel A. House, was killed by a roadside bomb while serving in Iraq, House in the Woods offers canoeing, kayaking, hiking, hunting, fishing, nature tours, campfires, swimming, wildlife identification and spotting, and other natural Eastern Maine resource “treasures” to enjoy. Optics 1 was proud to present House in the Woods a $10,000 donation to help continue their great work.

Our agile teams are constantly adapting and collaborating to improve processes, keep up with new technologies, and changing business needs, while also having the opportunity to chat with the CEO as a morning cup of coffee is brewing.

On April 14th, Safran Optics 1 celebrated its production and shipment of the 4,000th Laser Target Locator Module (LTLM) II to the US Army. With its multifunction capabilities, the LTLM II contributes to the US military’s overmatch on the battlefield. “When talking about the 4,000th LTLM II, we must start with the end goal, and that is Optics 1’s support for the US Soldier in successfully conducting their mission and returning safely,” said Optics 1 President & CEO, Joe Bogosian, on the occasion of the company’s celebration of the milestone. The Optics 1 LTLM II provides the US Soldier a system with higher performance, greater reliability and less complexity than legacy products, while weighing under 3.1 pounds. Since being awarded the LTLM II IDIQ contract, Optics 1 has led the design, production, testing and delivery of each system by combining its best-in-class technologies along with Safran Electronics and Defense and Safran Vectronix. “We’ve got three contributing companies, but one team, delivering one cutting-edge product for the US Army,” said Bogosian.
