Our UK plants have joined forces to help healthcare organizations fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly 100 people work for Owens Corning in Liversedge, U.K., manufacturing Nonwoven products. These products are used in a variety of areas such as the construction and the automotive industries. OC employees in the Liversedge plant planned to organize a fundraising bike tour across the U.K. in June to help finance cancer research led by the nearby Bradford hospital; but COVID-19 struck, forcing cancellation of the bike tour. When the OC Foundation suggested keeping the grant and raising it to $10,000 while directing the funds to COVID-19 relief, it took plant leader Matt Baines just a few seconds to respond: โExcellent, thanks a lot!โ โThis is a fabulous idea as our National Health Services are all working so hard and struggling to continue with some of the normal services,โ confirmed Amanda McMahon-Wright, HR leader in the plant. โThanks again to OC Foundation.โ
