Employee Irma D. received high praise from a credit union member. The member (Ms. B.) called Customer Care twice because she gets confused and sometimes has difficulty remembering things, due to medications and treatments she’s receiving for serious medical issues. Ms. B. said she had the pleasure of speaking with Irma, who was patient, kind, and attentive. Because of this, she felt safe enough to share her story with Irma, who listened compassionately and learned that the member is fighting breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, and a brain tumor. Ms. B. expressed that when you’re sick, just having someone exercise patience and understanding like Irma did makes all the difference. She said PFP is blessed to have Irma on our staff because she provided excellent customer service, answered all her questions, and truly cares about the customers she serves. Griffith Elementary School – Winston-Salem, NC We recently granted $3,700 to Griffith Elementary School which will provide a school-wide Read Aloud program focused on the Alaskan Iditarod dog race to vulnerable at-risk children in grades PK-5. 90% of Griffith’s children are at-risk and need interventions above classroom instruction in order to find success. Some of these interventions are English language, primary reading, as well as extra time and repetitive instructions. This grant will allow them to purchase the books written about the dogs that ran in the Iditarod races, Balto, Togo, and Stone Fox. The students will also be able to follow the race by working with the Iditarod interactive website. The learning activities will be centered on books, building comprehension and vocabulary. Read Aloud research shows when students hear stories read aloud; it is modeling what reading and what the pace of reading “sounds like”. Students are building comprehension strategies to use in their own silent reading. The focus is on building student reading interest while modeling reading util
Toys for Tots Best Q4 Donation Good morning Team. We are pleased to inform you that a donation has been made to the Toys for Tots Foundation in the amount of $2,438.00 representing our company commitment to the Best 4th Quarter in PFP’s history. We made this donation in the name of our participating Credit Unions from every region. The Milford Firefighters were extraordinarily moved by the generosity of our ownership team, and the hustle put forth by all of our employees to make the Holiday Season brighter for so many disadvantaged kids. Thank you ALL for making the dream work once again.
