#CommunitySpotlight: Last week at Victory Gardens, residents enjoyed a buffet-style meal from Chinese Dragon that The Healing Center sponsored. Director Nancy Slamet conducts a monthly program at VG that offers different modalities such as meditation, reflexology, Reiki, and arts. Their organization kindly donated $500 to the residents to organize a lunch of their choice. This past Saturday, Peabody team members from all over came together for a mission of health and wellness. We joined The Dimock Center, HoodFit, and the Boston Athletic Association for the annual #RoadToWellness5K. A road to wellness is exactly what this event is. #RTW5K is the perfect event for the entire community to come together and celebrate their journeys to mental, physical, and spiritual health and wellness. There was even an option to head over to the Kids’ Fun Zone with the little ones! #DidYouKnow that the path for this 5k was purposely carved out to pass historical landmarks around the Roxbury neighborhood? A few of the key monuments included The Malcolm X-Ella Little-Collins House, the National Center of Afro-American Artists, the John A. Shelburne Recreational Center, The Dimock Center, the Melnea A. 🌞 Recently, our residents at Park Garden Apartments enjoyed Dylan's Ice Cream Truck right outside their homes. They were served delicious and refreshing treats, which came in handy since the weather was in the high 80s 🥵!
