Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States, serves as an opportunity to cherish freedom, but also poignantly acknowledge the history of slavery in our country. This year, we continue to take the time to listen to our community, as we take meaningful action to create more equitable and inclusive workplaces. With President Joe Biden signing legislation this past Thursday making Juneteenth a federal holiday, we are filled with hope that we can continue to learn from the past and strive for a better future - together. #wearepeabody #StrongerTogether

Bedford Towers in New Bedford, MA held their first indoor resident event of the year : a "Pop Up Library". They plan to host the event twice a month in collaboration with the New Bedford Free Public Library. The most recent Pop Up Library included a guest speaker & author, Tracy Tarvers. In 1997 Tracy suffered a traumatic brain injury and her spinal cord was damaged. She has used writing as a tool to assist her in recovering memories, rebuilding skills, and communicating. Today, as an active quadriplegic she shares the inspiring story of her recovery. #wearepeabody #StrongerTogether
