At PetSmart, our mission is to bring pet parents closer to their pets so they can live more fulfilled lives. Nothing exemplifies this more than the healing power of pet therapy dogs. Last month, PetSmart Charities announced a $279,000 grant to Orlando Health in support of the hospital’s Pet Therapy program, increasing the hospital’s dog-handler teams from 60 to 90 by 2019. We’re honored to support this wonderful initiative. This is #LifeatPetSmart!
June is National Pet Preparedness Month, and PetSmart Invites Shoppers to Participate in a Pet Food Drive Benefiting Local Animal Welfare Organizations and Their Efforts to Help Pets During Emergencies
Our very own David Haworth, DVM, PhD, President of PetSmart Charities, was well received at the Veterinary Innovation Summit, held in College Station Texas, last month. Haworth discussed the importance of providing veterinary care to underserved populations emphasizing that despite lower income levels, these pet owners love their pets and would pay for their care, but have limited access to basic veterinary medical services. Check out more about what he had to say.
Last weekend was National Adoption Weekend, and we are overwhelmed by the love and support. Over 29,000 pets found their forever home!
All of our associates (2-legged and 4-legged) love working here and we think that you would, too! Visit our careers page to learn more!
