Get to know Marielena, 👩🔬 PhD Senior Director, Diagnostics Lead. Responsible for the design and implementation of strategies for companion diagnostics development to support our Oncology pipeline. "Some advice I would provide is to define success on your own terms. With that definition in hand, take chances and explore the things that sound fun to do. After all, growing and learning through play is the best method." "Outside of work, I have many hobbies (my husband jokes that I’m on hobby #67). I am an adult-onset athlete and love the outdoors 🌿. Living in San Diego 🇺🇸 I can swim, run, cycle and hike year-round. I also use my fitness journey to help others by fundraising for organizations focused on cancer, equity and environmental stewardship. One of my annual fundraisers is for Padres Pedal the Cause with the La Jolla Pfizer cycling team 🚲 More recently, I started painting with watercolors 👩🎨 (Instagram.com/maty.mata.art) and have also been using my artwork for fundraising."
