Through life’s ups and downs, our employees continue to inspire us. Meet Sara Garay, Executive Assistant, Enterprise Risk Management, as she shares her story with Prudential in her own words: “In 2021, my life changed overnight when my home burned down. My husband, three children and I lost our possessions, our home, our sense of security. In a distressing time, something incredible happened: the entire Enterprise Risk Management team was by my side, providing immediate financial help, food, water and clothes. One leader offered furniture from his late mother-in-law’s home and even arranged for movers to bring it to our temporary apartment.”
Hear why Paranj Patel, VP Compliance, is #PruProud as he shares his journey with Prudential in his own words: “Prudential has many great leaders who have contributed immensely to my personal and professional development. In 2019, I started as a customer service representative and, thanks to my mentors, I have grown into the next line of leaders at Prudential as a Chief Compliance Officer today. ‘Pay it forward’ is what comes to my mind as I try to mentor my directs, so they too can be leaders of this amazing organization. This is how Prudential will keep delivering on its promises for years to come.”
As part of our Faces of the Rock series, meet Hilda Sanchez (Executive Assistant, PGIM Fixed Income), who shares her journey with Prudential in her own words: "When I joined Prudential 12 years ago, it was the end of a long three years of being unemployed. From day one I felt like I belonged here. The enthusiasm I brought with me opened opportunities for growth and promotions within my department in a short amount of time. After learning about the tuition assistance program, I registered for college courses. I had never considered attending college prior to this since I had married at a young age and started a family shortly after. With the support of my family, colleagues and managers, I earned my bachelor's degree in 2022, which was a dream come true. I will remain forever grateful to this organization. Prudential continues to be a safe place where I feel appreciated and valued." Stay tuned for more Faces of the Rock stories.
Meet Jesus Rivera, an analyst in Enterprise Risk Management, who shared his journey with Prudential as part of our Faces of the Rock series. Explore Jesus’s story in his own words: “When my family first moved to the United States, we found a new family in an unexpected place. My mother met a lovely couple who offered to teach her English. This couple, who had met at Prudential and worked there during the 1970s and ’80s, became my honorary grandparents. They guided my education, took me to museums, and taught me about life. As a child, riding through Newark and seeing the Plaza building, I was always in awe. I would constantly ask them about it, and their stories painted a picture of opportunity and hope, as Prudential was the first employer to give them a chance as first-generation graduates. Today, I am in my second year at Prudential, joining right after college as a first-generation professional. The stories they shared foreshadowed my own journey, and now I carry their legacy forward.” Stay tuned for more Faces of the Rock stories.
