We’re excited to begin our partnership with the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA), South Carolina’s largest public transit provider, serving communities across the Charleston region. This partnership brings together CARTA’s deep local knowledge and RATP Dev USA’s experience operating transit systems across the country and around the world. Together, we are focused on delivering safe, dependable service today while preparing for what comes next, including fleet electrification, service improvements, and future Bus Rapid Transit opportunities. RATP Dev USA will operate fixed-route and paratransit services using a fleet of 120 vehicles. CARTA currently serves nearly 4 million riders each year across 23 fixed and express routes, supported by a team of 209 dedicated transit professionals, with service projected to reach 3.5 million revenue miles in 2026. We appreciate the trust placed in us by the CARTA Board and leadership, and we look forward to working alongside the employees who keep Charleston moving every day. We are ready to get started and committed to supporting reliable mobility for the region.
