Rigetti UK will partner with Riverlane and Astex Pharmaceuticals to develop an integrated application for simulating molecular systems using Rigetti Quantum Cloud Services.
Rigetti Computing announced today it is launching the world's first multi-chip quantum processor. The processor incorporates a proprietary modular architecture that accelerates the path to commercialization and solves key scaling challenges toward fault-tolerant quantum computers.
The first quantum computer in the UK will also be Rigetti's first hardware installation outside the U.S.
The Center will leverage Rigetti’s state-of-the-art fabrication facilities for manufacturing high-coherence superconducting qubits and scalable quantum integrated circuit architectures, as well as its full-stack expertise in building and deploying quantum computing capabilities over the cloud.
“Quantum computing will drive a paradigm shift in high-performance computers as we continue pushing the boundaries of science deeper into the realms of science fiction,” said Tomer Diari, a leading deep-tech investor from Bessemer Venture Partners who has joined the company’s board. “Quantum technology has the potential to unlock significant advancements in biology, chemistry, logistics and material science, and we believe that Rigetti provides the most immediate and clear path to a production-grade system in the market.”
Rigetti Computing, a pioneer in hybrid quantum-classical computing systems, has been awarded up to $8.6 million from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), as part of a larger collaboration with the NASA Quantum Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (QuAIL) and Universities Space Research Association (USRA), to develop a full-stack system with proven quantum advantage for solving real world problems.
