Riverside Research AI/ML Director, Dr. Bill Casebeer, has had an eventful September! On 15 Sept., he spoke at The University of Tulsa as part of the Sarah and John Graves Cybersecurity Distinguished Lecture Series on the topic of “Virtual Testbeds for Training Data Generation and Human-In-The-Loop Edge Case Testing of Machine Learning Algorithms: Lessons From the Trenches.” Dr. Casebeer got to tour the computer and #robotics labs, meet TU grad students, and fielded questions about synthetic data generation and how it could be used to improve the performance of #MachineLearning algorithms. Tulsa’s News on 6/KOTV interviewed him: https://bit.ly/3EScIdU Last week, Dr. Casebeer provided a lunchtime speech at the University of Minnesota Law School's Institute for Law and Rationality's Conference on the topic of #psychology, inspired by author Joe Henrich’s book “The WEIRDest People in the World: How the West Became Psychologically Peculiar and Particularly Prosperous.” Dr. Casebeer’s talk was entitled “WEIRD Neurobiology: How Our Evolutionary History Normalizes Prosocial Human Behavior.” In this speech, he discussed how large language models can be used to potentially provide insight into psychologically diverse cultures to better understand, for example, how our actions might be perceived by them. #AI #ML #WeAreRiversideResearch #HumanBehavior #Tulsa #DataGeneration #Minnesota #LLM
