Let’s get to know Gabe Ro—one of our IT systems specialists who wears many hats! Gabe has been enlisted in the Virginia National Guard for 4.5 years and currently works a full-time civilian job with us, all while working towards his bachelor’s degree specializing in #cybersecurity and computer science. Gabe has truly experienced a variety of roles while being enlisted. During the height of the COVID-19 global pandemic in 2020, he played an important role by supporting testing sites as well as ensuring supplies and personal protective equipment were maintained and readily available. Later that year, he was then activated to serve as a communications specialist with those on the frontlines during the George Floyd protests in Richmond, VA. In 2021, Gabe was deployed to Kuwait for nearly a year to assist with air defense monitoring during the Afghanistan retrograde. He then joined Riverside in May 2022, just a month upon returning home from his deployment.
