Earlier this month, members of the Riverside Research Women’s Employee Resource Group organized a school supply drive to help young students have what they need to go #BackToSchool this year. The drive was a big success, filling more than 150 backpacks! Thank you to the Women’s ERG Chair, Emma Kiser, for organizing this event, which was coordinated across our biggest locations. The school supply drive benefited charities local to each participating office: 📚 Crystal City and Centreville, VA: Second Story ✏️Lexington, MA: The Wish Project 🏫Manhattan, NY: Volunteers of America 🚌 Beavercreek and Fairborn, OH: Crayons to Classrooms
Meet Chet Cooper, one of our IT project managers. Chet served in the United States Air Force for over 23 years and retired this time last year. Chet began his career as a cruise missile technician, then skilled up into administration. He eventually retrained as a Chinese Airborne Language Analyst and Tactical Systems operator, flying on multiple #ISR aircraft. During his time in the service, Chet served on eight bases across the world, including Japan and the United Kingdom, in addition to deployments in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other regions. During his service, Chet served as the senior enlisted leader of a key airborne ISR squadron in the United Kingdom at a critical time in the European theater. Chet is a member of our Veterans’ Employee Resource Group (VERG), which builds awareness and provides resources to #veterans, veterans’ families, and friends of veterans and brings together members to build networks, find community, and create camaraderie. Thanks, Chet, for serving our nation with honor, and for bringing your talent and dedication to our organization!
Riverside Research interns from multiple business units competed in a two-day hackathon to develop an hashtag#AI agent that effectively assists Riverside Research employees by improving their workflows. The teams had one stipulation: the solution had to operate locally within our company's network, without requiring internet access. Interns Nathan Bain and Ryan Zmuda competed against Dheeraj Gosula and Phil Trzaska. Nathan and Ryan developed a solution to help Riverside Research employees who have routine company-related questions, IT issues, and other concerns. They created a local AI agent, which serves as an immediate starting point for finding the answers employees are searching for. Dheeraj and Phil developed a solution to help Scrum Masters and developers maximize efficiencies. The team designed an AI chatbot connected directly to Jira, a critical project management tool. The result: Scrum Masters and Developers can use the AI to receive advice analysis based on past projects, with the AI suggesting which tickets to prioritize. The two teams presented their solutions to a panel of judges who evaluated them on four key criteria. This year the winning team is Nathan Bain and Ryan Zmuda! Congratulations and thank you to our talented and creative interns!
