SK’s new Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) was created as part of an Employee Resource Group (ERG) in collaboration with our Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council (DIAC). This group brings female associates together in a safe place where conversations can flow freely, and everyone can feel comfortable sharing their experience. The WLN also revolves around helping women across SK feel allied through a common cause or interest, along with identifying and developing upcoming leaders. Participants can find new opportunities through the WLN to connect with mentors and supportive colleagues. The group can also help collectively surface issues that might be too risky for an individual to share alone, which lowers the chance of suppressed frustrations and allows everyone to be heard. At SK, we’re proud to highlight the stories of our hard-working Associates. As we continuously embrace DEI initiatives in our organization, we recognize that including women’s voices at our vast food manufacturing table is vital to our success.
One of SK Food Group’s core values is to “Do the Right Thing.” It is living that value by advancing racial and social equity for its Associates and their communities through diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies, programs, and initiatives. In charge of overseeing those DEI efforts is Craig Sawyer, SK’s Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer.
SK Food Group and the four other unique companies that make up the North American Sandwich Division are united behind a set of strongly held values. These values are rooted in our passion for working to benefit more than just our associates, customers and stakeholders. We are equally passionate about working to serve our local communities and operating in a way that is best for our planet.
We’re diving into the details of DEI and looking at how these initiatives are developed and implemented at SK, from Associates all the way up to executives. We’ll also talk about what SK is doing to attract a diverse applicant pool on an ongoing basis.
Automation is the future, and companies that embrace the changing manufacturing landscape through bold technological investments will be the ones capable of providing the greatest opportunities for their associates. At SK, we have invested in our food production capabilities and are looking for motivated people interested in working with cutting edge food manufacturing automation technology.
