Thank you to these team members across the country who recently prevented/stopped thefts at their sites. Officer Jonathan David of the Savannah region helped stop bike thieves. He received information about two stolen bikes and a description of the individuals suspected of the theft, which occurred earlier that day. Officer David located the suspects while actively patrolling the campus and surrounding community. He contacted the campus security operations center, which contacted local law enforcement to respond, make arrests, and return the stolen property. The client personally thanked Officer David for his response and commitment. Officer Raven Hendrickson of the Cincinnati region deterred metal theft at the site when a semi-driver reported to the wrong location. Officer Hendrickson sent him on his way, but as he was leaving, the driver stopped and began transferring material from the site’s scrap metal bin to the back of his trailer. Officer Hendrickson informed the man that he could not take the metal, but he spoke very little English. She quickly called a supervisor to help the driver understand that he was committing theft and that needed to remove the metal from his truck, or the authorities would be called. She received an Employee Appreciation Card for her professional handling of the situation.
Supervisor Teri Ramsuer of the Roanoke region retired from Sunstates after nearly 17 years of loyal service. She served 16 years at the same site location. She was hired as a Security Officer in June 2007 and was promoted to Site Supervisor in January 2019. Teri was beloved by Sunstates and client leadership alike. Her dedication was rare and unrivaled. Sunstates and the client partner thanked Teri with a farewell dinner, where she was recognized for her service. We wish Teri all the best in her retirement. Meet Kit Kern, National Account Manager. Sunstates Security was thrilled to welcome Kit, a seasoned security professional with over 25 years of experience in law enforcement and security operations, to our team in December 2023. Kit's leadership and industry knowledge will be instrumental in overseeing a large, multi-state client account that is experiencing significant growth. Prior to joining Sunstates, Kit held the prestigious position of Director, Domestic Global Security and Safety Operations. In this role, she spearheaded the development of domestic physical security programs, ensuring their effectiveness across diverse business units. She kept executive leaders apprised of security issues, vendor compliance, and audit results, while also implementing comprehensive global security solutions to safeguard company facilities.
In Raleigh, Adavine Okauru celebrated 15 years at Sunstates. He has worked at several locations, starting at the officer level and moving up to the current site supervisor position. He has proven to be an excellent leader and a valuable member of the Sunstates team.
Welcome, Clarence Lockhart-SAS®, Operations Manager in the Orlando region. Clarence is a dynamic and results-driven professional with proven leadership experience. Spending more than ten years in the military and over ten in the physical security sector, he offers exceptional skills in strategic planning, resource allocation, and team development. Sunstates Security is excited to have him join our growing Orlando team. Joining the US Navy in 2000, Clarence served for 12 years as a Chief Petty Officer. He conducted seven deployments to include three NATO coalition operations. Following this, Clarence started his career in the security field. During his six years with a large security contracting company, he was promoted several times, beginning as an officer and ending as Senior Operations Manager/Regional Risk Management. In that role, he was responsible for the daily operations of the Orlando district. Duties included providing oversight and training to operations and account managers throughout Florida, implementing training and safety programs, and delivering updates and support to the Regional Director. After, Clarence worked for a few years as the Director of Operations at a competing security contract firm.
Manny Dhruv, Site Supervisor for one of our locations in Edison, NJ, was recognized as Newark’s regional Supervisor of the Month. Since joining the team in October of 2023, Manny has shown his leadership skills in developing and revitalizing the team to the standards of both Sunstates and the client.
