Sunstates Security welcomed James Vaught to the team in May as an Operations Manager for the Greensboro region. He brings over seven years of experience in the private security industry and an extensive background and skills that make him an excellent fit for his new role. James's previous positions include Branch Manager and Client Manager for large security contract companies. As a branch manager, he monitored the duties of the staff, implemented transition programs, prepared post orders, communicated with the clients and more. Before private security, James served as a Correctional Officer and West Virginia Special Operations Team member. He was a Platoon Sergeant for 14 years with the Special Operations Team. Following, he then transferred to the Operations Division for West Virginia to learn the business side for the last eight years, at which point he retired.
Members of the Sunstates Security team attended the ISC Security Events Comprehensive Security Event in New York City last week. There, our team was able to participate in activities such as attending informational keynote speakers, certification courses, classes and workshops, an expo hall and networking opportunities.
COO Denis Kelly recently visited a residential community site in Charleston, SC. Two Sunstates team members on shift were Officer Nicole McCants and Supervisor Paige Thompson. The Houston management team recognizes two employees for their exceptional work; both received appreciation cards. Officer Byron Talent was monitoring cameras when he noticed a suspicious vehicle driving through the site parking lots. He notified the HPD officer on site and followed the suspect on the cameras, communicating and letting them know where the suspect was. His thoroughness was appreciated by the HPD and led to the suspect leaving the site. Officer Taniya Semien received an appreciation card for filling in on short notice during a weekend call-off.
