From School Spirit to Community Impact: Blue Grass Elementary Shows the Love It started with a “We Love Target” school spirit day at Blue Grass Elementary in Davenport, Iowa. More than 200 students showed up in Target Red to celebrate the impact our T-533 Davenport store has on their community. So we showed up for them. At a special Valentine’s Day assembly, Bullseye and our T-533 store team surprised students and staff with Bullseye plushies and their own Target name tags. Gabby C., district senior director, Group 196, joined the celebration and presented a 10,000 dollar donation to the local chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, along with a Target GiftCard for the school. “The communities we serve are at the heart of why we do what we do. T“winning” Together in Tech... Now say that five times fast. Identical twins Mike and Chad both started their Target journeys the same way: a job fair leading to a role in Target RedCard Services. From there, their paths evolved in different ways but kept circling back to growth, relationship building, and the ever-evolving world of tech. Mike has a total of 29 years with Target experience, and has moved through multiple roles, guided by strong mentorship that helped him find his way into tech. As Mike puts it, “Working with Target opened the door to a career in tech, while also giving me opportunities to collaborate across teams and build meaningful connections nationwide.” When we asked Chad about the complexities of working with family, he provided wisdom: “Separating work and family is tricky – you have to learn to set boundaries. We also must focus on carving out our own identities at work. We support each other but also want to grow independently at Target. The key is communication and mutual respect. When one of us succeeds, we both do. When one struggles, we lean into mentorship.” Today, they work on the same team in HiTech. Mike and Chad’s story is a reminder to us all that careers are rarely linear and that sometimes... the best peer is also your twin. Asked and Answered – A Peek Into Supply Chain Leadership at Target At Target, we know that great experiences start with great team members. Meet Liz H., Operations Manager MBP within our supply chain organization who answers some questions about her approximate 25 years at Target. What advice would you give a new team member who wants to grow with the company? "Never be afraid to ask questions and build relationships. Curiosity helps foster growth and understanding of the business and can sometimes spark change. Get to know your team, mentors, and leaders early on. They are your support squad and will be with you on your journey. You can never have too many people on your side." Looking back, what moment or milestone best represents your journey at Target? "One of my biggest moments in Target was when I was promoted from Senior Team Leader to Executive Team Leader. I remember how my leaders, all the way up to the group level, celebrated with me. I remember thinking of the work and development that went into this and how awesome it felt to be recognized in that moment." Tell me about one of your biggest learnings as a leader at Target. "Feedback is a gift. Feedback means someone cares enough to give you the opportunity to grow and make changes that impact you for the good. I’ve had some amazing mentors along the way that gave me valuable feedback that has helped me be the leader that I am today." Thanks for spending some time with us, Liz.
A first week as CEO, up close. Michael Fiddelke spent his first week meeting with team members across Target, listening and learning from the people who bring our brand to life every day. Here are a few highlights, and a look at the focus areas guiding what’s next for Target.
Taking Pride in Every Detail. Dalton D., a general merchandise expert team member at T-1072 Colombus NE in Ohio, has spent over 50 hours using an estimated 2,500 LEGO pieces to build a miniature version of his store. Dalton has been at his store for more than three years, and knew he wanted to build something from his life that fit the official LEGO modular building size. His Target was an obvious choice. The most challenging part of his project? Shrinking the 143,000-square-foot store’s façade. That required editing out a few original features of the store – like its second set of doors and benches. But Dalton made sure to include his favorite parts and his favorite people. Last week, our team was back in New York City for the NRF 26’ Retail’s Big Show. For years, Target has supported this conference as a key sponsor and partner, and this year was as exciting as over.
