TeamHealth's Emerging Infectious Disease Taskforce reviewed a recent report by the CDC analyzing the possible associations between cases of Pericarditis/Myocarditis and COVID-19 vaccines. After review, the taskforce reinforces the CDC recommendation that everyone eligible down to age 12 receive a COVID-19 vaccine. The risk of serious inflammatory conditions, hospitalization or death from COVID-19 infections continues to be much higher than possible risks from any vaccine.
