Truist Foundation and Truist Charitable Fund announced a $2 million grant to Black Business Investment Fund Inc. (BBIF), a community development financial institution (CDFI) built to foster the creation and expansion of Black businesses by providing loans, education and training services. The grant will help create BBIF's Revolving Loan Fund that will provide loan capital for small business lending, targeting BIPOC and underserved small businesses across Central Florida.
Truist Foundation announced Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative as the top recipient of the inaugural Inspire Awards grant, a program inviting nonprofits that support Black-, Indigenous-, and people of color- (BIPOC) and women-owned small businesses across the country to submit innovative solutions to address the complex challenges facing small businesses. Truist announced that Mike Maguire, Truist's chief consumer finance and payments officer, has been named chief financial officer (CFO) effective Sept. 15. Maguire succeeds current Truist CFO Daryl Bible, whose retirement was announced in May and who will remain at Truist during a transition period.
