US Foods, in partnership with the Black Resource for Inclusion, Diversity, Growth and Empowerment ERG, will be celebrating Juneteenth during the week of June 13-17! We will celebrate the right to be free and the perseverance of Black people, while also increasing awareness through educational events. Juneteenth is an annual holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. It is celebrated on June 19, with the name Juneteenth being a blending of the words "June" and "nineteenth." The day is also known as Black Independence Day, Freedom Day and Emancipation Day. African Americans have been celebrating Juneteenth since the late 1800s. It is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States, and has always been a day of remembrance and an opportunity for the Black community to honor their history and celebrate their culture.

Happy Black History Month to our employees, customers, family, and friends! To celebrate the black community this month, weâll be sharing stories and photos from past and present events sponsored and supported by our US Foods Black Resources Utilization Hub employee resource group. These events not only honor the legacy of black pioneers and change makers throughout history, but also spotlight the current contributions of our black associates and allies to a more inclusive company culture and diverse restaurant community. We look forward to sharing more throughout this month and coming months!

Proud to donate several truckloads of food for the ABC 11 Together Food Drive with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. They're especially excited about the frozen meats, which are important for balanced meals, and are an expensive item on family grocery lists. Another example of how US Foods is helping communities make it this season!
