Temperatures were low but enthusiasm was high for the first annual St. Paul Ice Hockey Winter Classic in early February. Several diehard employee owners (and a few family members) braved blustery snow and sleet at the Cummings Park pond, next to the St. Paul office building, for a spirited pond hockey game and open skating.

On Jan. 24 a team from Ulteig received an award for winning a Denver marathon relay race – and donated their cash winnings to the Special Olympics of Colorado. The 2021 awards ceremony took place this past week, where one of the Ulteig teams picked up a couple of trophies and prize money of $1,250 for finishing first in their division. Congratulations to the winning team: Mark Husted, Engineer-Substation; David Sondergaard, Project Manager; Erik Carlson, Environmental Specialist-Civil; Solongo Beasley, Engineer-Substation; and Jordan Arnold, Technical Manager-Substation.

Happy Holidays! Each office had their Holiday gift giving party. Employees were celebrated with many treats and several wonderful gifts. We appreciate our employees so much!
Our Hamilton branch had a night out paintballing, sponsored by the Ulteig Culture Committee. The group squared off on some team games, played a couple of basic rounds, a few “capture the flag” rounds, and a handful finished the night with “last man standing.” Altogether, over 5,000 paint balls were fired and a lot of fun was had!
