Vantage Data Centers is pleased to announce the completion of a $1.6 billion investment in its Asia-Pacific platform led by affiliates of GIC and ADIA and the finalization of the acquisition of Yondr Group’s 300MW-plus hyperscale campus in Johor, Malaysia. “This acquisition marks an important step in our growth strategy for APAC,” said Jeremy Deutsch, president of Vantage Data Centers, APAC. “We’re bringing one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most advanced hyperscale campuses into our platform, enhancing our ability to deliver sustainable infrastructure for AI and cloud customers across the region.” This milestone expands Vantage’s regional platform to 1GW of operational and planned capacity across Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The campus, now called JHB1, strengthens Vantage’s ability to serve AI and cloud customers with sustainable, scalable infrastructure across Asia-Pacific.
Vantage Data Centers is investing more than $2 billion in the Fredericksburg region to develop our new 192MW VA4 campus, reinforcing our commitment to innovation, sustainability and long-term growth in Virginia. The campus will include three two-story facilities across 82 acres and is designed to achieve LEED Silver certification as part of our sustainable-by-design approach. With this development, Vantage’s total planned capacity in Virginia will reach 782MW to support accelerating cloud and AI demand from the world’s largest technology companies. To mark our entrance into the Fredericksburg community, Vantage and our general contractor DPR Construction hosted a groundbreaking ceremony attended by leaders from the Commonwealth of Virginia, Stafford County and IBEW Local 26. Last week, we announced the expansion of Vantage’s Italian footprint with a second campus in Milan, Italy. Located in Castelletto, Settimo Milanese, the MXP2 campus will deliver 32MW of IT capacity across two state-of-the-art data centers, strengthening our position as a leading provider of scalable, sustainable digital infrastructure in Europe. Located less than 10 miles (about 15 kilometers) from central Milan, the campus has been recognized by the Italian government as a key strategic investment under the Article 13 Decree Law. MXP2 is designed with sustainability at its core, integrating nature-based solutions to manage stormwater, enhance local biodiversity and reduce carbon impact. “Expanding our Italian footprint in Greater Milan marks a strategic move for Vantage,” said David Howson, president, EMEA at Vantage Data Centers. “The region’s expanding digital ecosystem and competitive market dynamics make it an ideal location for global hyperscale growth, and our investment in MXP2 underscores Vantage’s commitment to delivering world-class, sustainable data center solutions in this key market to enable cloud and AI technologies.
This week, we announced the opening of our second London campus, LHR2, delivering 20MW of IT capacity and unveiling one of Europe’s largest permanent public art installations during London Design Festival. Vantage Data Centers is investing nearly $3 billion to bring a new 224MW campus to Reno, Nevada. Spanning more than 1 million square feet, our NV1 campus will be purpose-built for AI and high-density workloads with the flexibility to support both traditional air-cooled compute loads as well as next generation GPU loads using liquid cooling. “The scale and pace at which our customers need business-critical capacity is at an all-time high,” said Dana Adams, president of North America at Vantage. “Nevada provided us a strategic opportunity to accelerate time-to-market for these customers while supporting the local economy.” NV1 will employ more than 1,200 individuals and reflects our commitment to speed, scale and sustainability.
