February is Black History Month, a month-long celebration and recognition of the achievements and contributions of Black Americans throughout our history. This celebration dates back to 1915, when the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) chose the second week in February for a week-long event for schools and communities to organize celebrations, establish history clubs and host performances and lectures. President Gerald Ford officially recognized Black History Month in 1976, extending the celebration throughout the month of February. Read on to learn more about the history of the ASALH.
WATCH NOW: Our complimentary Vector Cares course, Coronavirus 108: The Basics of Vaccines, is now available in our Coronavirus Resource Center. Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., civil rights leader, advocate and national hero. His words ring true today more than ever: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
Today, we held our first All Hands meeting of 2021! While it was great to talk about all of the exciting things coming this year, we also recognized the team members that went above and beyond at the end of 2020 to display our company values - Entrepreneurship, Learning, Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence, and Wow! Congratulations to our winners - Kiersey McLaughlin, Rebecca Truitt, Hannah Howe, Brad Lyon and Jenna Harrison - for their incredible hard work and dedication! #OneVector
