Meet Peyton Wilder, Assistant General Manager of Yugo's Campus Court in Lexington, Kentucky and full-time student! 👩🎓 Peyton is passionate about providing a positive, supportive experience for students and building relationships with them. Her talent and special focus on student retention is reflected in Campus Court being 100% preleased for the last two years! She truly embodies Yugo’s values as one of our incredible Yugopreneur culture champions, and we are thrilled to have her as part of the Yugo team! Her advice? “Come to work every day being your true self. My time here has had a huge impact on who I am, so be open to different possibilities always. There is so much Yugo and co-yugoers have to offer!
Happy International Women’s Day – a special day devoted to celebrating and empowering women. Proudly, at Yugo, women make up 50 percent of our leadership team! Meet Isaac Nelapana, one of our talented Student Ambassadors from Melbourne, Australia! Isaac has been described as a ⭐ superstar,⭐ and was recently honored as a Yugoer of the Quarter partly for his role in facilitating a Resume 101 event to help make students more employable and aid them in their job-hunting journey. He continues to host a number of social and professional development events as a strong advocate for our YuPro pillar, and is just all-around talented and passionate about what he does! His advice for students? “Get out of comfort zones to get the most out of Yugo. Although it sounds intimidating, you can start by taking baby steps – ask a resident you met at an event if they would like to study or grab a coffee together. ☕ This simple act could be the start of a wholesome friendship that could make your time in a foreign country that much easier.” Thank you for all you do and for being part of the Yugo family, Isaac!
Today we held workshop webinars on Intergenerational Workshops. We know that diverse ad inclusive teams bring more engagement and competitive advantage. Today, we listened and had interactive sessions to bring more awareness to our global teams. This included how to get the most out of intergenerational teams by understanding what motivates different generations. Most importantly we developed more insights around building relationships to ensure all of our Yugoers feel connected.
Valentine's Day is a day of celebrating love around the world. This week, our CEO Rui Barros, VP of Operations Jessica Delis and Global People and Culture Director Michelle Hopkins-Jones spent time visiting our Yugoers in Tempe, Tuscon and Salt Lake City. It is always a great experience meeting the teams face to face. It allows us to build more connection, understand challenges and work together on solutions. I loved meeting the teams who really are aligned with our values and show commitment to our students, delivering experiences that our students love and trust to renew with us for the next academic year.
Wellness is an important factor of the employee experience. We are regularly holding events that help support the holistic wellness journey for our Yugoers. January kicked off with two wellness webinars with WellWise wellbeing expert Bobbi Hartshorne. Our first webinar was available to all Yugoers across our global business focusing in on optimizing performance and wellbeing, taking personal accountability and understanding the mutually beneficial relationship between personal wellbeing and performance at work. The second webinar was for our Managers which helped managers understand the relationship between people centric leadership qualities and creating an environment where their teams take personal accountability for wellness to optimize performance. February, we will be holding Intergenerational workshops to unleash the potential of multi-generational teams.
