Leadership training is great, however onboarding and job training can be a "fend for yourself" type of experience.

Four weeks total, one in the classroom, one in the field, one more in the classroom, one more in the field. IF you get a good DishCoach (the technician training you in the field) then you have a shot. The program itself would be great, but most offices just send their highest level techs, regardless of their drive to train, to be coaches. There are no incentives for techs to coach other than just wanting to do it. I did it because I wanted the techs I trained to have a much better experience than I did. I rode around with four different techs watching them and handing them tools. I spent six months on my own before I knew what I was doing. When coaching I had each trainee perform each step of the installation, troubleshoot, and education as described by the program. After the trainee was on his/her own I made myself available for questions 24/7, even on days off, so the trainee would never feel he/she couldn't ask a questiuon.

Training from a 6 to 9 week course to a 2 to 3 week course.
