There used to be individual and business department modifiers for bonuses, but later all were canceled. Now almost everyone gets paid same amount of bonus, which is showing Dell is a start up, except it is NOT. There're big sales teams focusing on generating revenue and engineering teams work on R&D better compensated and appreciated by other companies, so this strategy totally expels hard workers.

They will give once yearly bonuses depending on how you, your organization and how the business as a whole is doing.

Was a good portion of the pay check
However, the resulting friction caused with co-workers due to competition was counter productive
Better to have higher fixed component and lower proportion of variable/ bonus component
