I travel a lot for my position so I work from home (road) a lot and it is very easy and doable. The company provides you with a work computer and i was also supplied with a work phone. It gives me versatility to be on the road for weeks at a time. One of the nicest things about being able to work from home is when holidays come around and you have the opportunity to spend time with family and friends and not have to worry about getting into the office.

VPN is super helpful, but it's hard to stay in the moment when you're not in the office. People are always getting up and approaching one another with questions regarding specs and such, and it's hard to keep up with questions when you're not in the office.
