ON-SITE & REMOTE
WORK FROM HOME FLEXIBLE
At Google we’ve implemented a hybrid work week where most Googlers spend about three days in the office and two days wherever they work best. Since in-office time is focused on collaboration, teams at Google decide which days they will come together. There are also roles that need to be on site more than three days a week due to the nature of the work.
We offer opportunities for Googlers to apply for completely remote work (away from their team or office) based on their role and team needs.
Work-from-anywhere weeks: Googlers are able to temporarily work from a location other than their main office for up to four weeks per year.
Focus time: Teams offer focus hours to limit internal meetings during times when people need to be heads down on projects.

It depends a lot on your manager, but it's a possibility if he/she approves it.

It has been an easy journey to work with Google remotely. Expensive in terms of data.

If you're sick, you can take time off to work from home. Normally need to be in the office.

In theory, Google supports working from home. But this will be team and manager dependent. Do your homework on teams you will join.

Sporadically working from home is permitted and common in my group, with no complaints from management.
However, it does significantly hamper your career growth and, at more senior levels, job performance. The culture is definitely focused on face-to-face interactions.
