ON-SITE & REMOTE
WORK FROM HOME FLEXIBLE
At Google we’ve implemented a hybrid work week where most Googlers spend about three days in the office and two days wherever they work best. Since in-office time is focused on collaboration, teams at Google decide which days they will come together. There are also roles that need to be on site more than three days a week due to the nature of the work.
We offer opportunities for Googlers to apply for completely remote work (away from their team or office) based on their role and team needs.
Work-from-anywhere weeks: Googlers are able to temporarily work from a location other than their main office for up to four weeks per year.
Focus time: Teams offer focus hours to limit internal meetings during times when people need to be heads down on projects.

Varies from manager to manager, but some don't mind if you're working from home (even if thousands of miles away) as long as you do your job.

I could work from home whenever the need arose. They do want people in the office which I think is reasonable (they feel it's important to have all the smarties working closely together... i agree).
One nice thing: my boss gave me a miniMac for home use so I didn't have to worry about lugging my laptop back and forth. That was super convenient.

Work from home is allowed in limited quantities, at least for engineers.
You still expected to be present at all meetings.
