401K Plan

"50% match up to 8%, plus 6% on top, for a grand total of 10%. This is outstanding and I do not know of anyone who tops that. If you make $100 and max out your 401k, you're putting away $28k a year."

401k Match is great. Insurance benefits are great as well. Great discount programs and company perks like monetary awards.

Lack of flexibility and variety in 401K options and reallocation of existing funds. This company had a defined benefits package for so long, i'm not sure they negotiated for the best 401k options for their employees with their 401k vendor. The fact that the company does provide a good company match is a positive but there are no stock options or other benefits offered without negotiating for additional benefits, at least for non-executives.

Best Thing: Very generous retirement savings plans, including 6% without employee contribution
Worst Thing: Benefits largely tailored to older employees. Little to no benefits aimed at getting younger employees off to a good start. (tuition reimbursement / student loan assistance / first-time home buyer down payment assistance)
