Benefit is simply being at home, con is it was very difficult to create relationships with those you needed to help with your job.

It's fine except when they stick you at a customer for 1-2 years full time travel.

SAP is very flexible when it comes to working from home. I'm responsible for my own schedule and only go in when it makes sense.

Concessions made at an individual level. Preferences based on the manager, and director. Used as a rewarding or simply the relationship between the employee and the manager. Favoritism in place

When I had to relocate because of my spouse's employment I was able to take mu job with me and work 100% virtually, this worked well for several years but once I was working for a new manager I feel this worked against me when it was time for "workforce optimization" (read: Lay offs). In hindsight it can be a bit of "lip service" - they say they're OK with it & that they are open to it but I think how it affects your promotability & upward mobility within the company; at best it's very dependent on having a manager who isn't fixated on having people in office.
