Performance bonus is mostly tied to company performance, which is too volatile. You end up getting nothing for exceling performance versus not performing. There's really no incentive to perform.

Agents make a huge 5 figure bonus at the end of each year not to mention the quarterly bonuses and perks they receive from State Farm. Employees don't get anything unless you have an agent that knows you are the reason they received those perks in the first place. You sell they reap the benefits.

Performance bonus was fairly generous, however difficulty of receiving higher performance rating was not commensurate with increase in bonus.

While my performance bonus with State Farm was pro-rated due to the time of the year I was hired during, employees that had been working for State Farm just a year longer than I felt good about their performance bonuses.

Bonus structure has undergone a number of adjustments, usually for the better. Currently getting a percentage based commission on sales, dependent on hitting financial service goals.

Your performance is rated by a Team Manager, who may or may not like you. The Team Manager could encourage and allow a peer's negative input to affect how much of a performance bonus you would receive. Very unfair.
