Allowed, but management was encouraged to be in the office

So many new computer software systems were being tested that the actual work environment became extremely slow and severely reduced day to day productivity.

I did not do this, this is only offered for some projects and at home will always be part time. You will have to pay for the systems and software and internet though i think you can get tax breaks on internet at least. But you will get paid less and less hours, so it's really not something I ever thought about doing, plus it's available on a very limited number of projects, and in fact may no longer be available currently.

The lack of support and the constant system issues

Love it very very much

You can work from home and the schedules are good. You can also trade a shift if you need to and if someone wants to trade with you at the time that you need. Pretty flexible. Have to keep a very quiet office-no sounds at all.

It's a decent set up for telecommuting. The monitoring can get very intrusive to the point of interrupting a conversation with a customer though.

The only problem I saw was that it was constant. I didn't feel like I could ever leave my chair.
