For my job position there was not much training to be done. Maybe it's different from other positions. You should really to people andb find out before taking the job.

The training process is outlined well, but often it is not followed due to payroll constraints

All of your training is through the computer and there is very little teaching and training.

They don't offer everyone the same training. They tend to play favorites and stick people in Self Checkout for 8 hour shifts at a time... The training is also VERY inconsistant. Depending on who is training you, One person will train you one way to do something and the next day another person will tell you that way is not correct and will train you a completely other way to do something. There's no winning... No one knows the correct procedure for price matching either...Every person in management will give you a different response. My impression, you can only price match 1 item from Target.com during a transaction. However, you can price match more than one item if they are affiliated with different stores and are not all the same product. The ETL gave me a different answer, the Store Director gave me an even different answer than the ETL, and the Front Lines Team Lead gave a different answer than all 3 of us. No one ever got back to me on the procedures of price-match - even 3 weeks after the issue was brought to management attention for clarification. That to me is lack of training and lack of communication with their Guest Advocates who are responsible for implementing these transactions.

Depending on what you are hired on, how busy it is, and who you get can really make a difference
