Work from home was significant percentage of employees even 15 years before Covid forced offices to close. It is an excellent option and allows for flexible work hours depending on job role.

The best thing is obvious. You do not have to wake up early and fight traffic, etc. furthermore, if you are meeting or exceeding your KPI‘s, then you very rarely hear from any supervisors or managers, which is amazing when you’ve come from several jobs with micromanagers. As long as you are doing what you’re supposed to be doing and you have the autonomy to get the job done without wasting time or being hassled, which is probably the best feature to do this job that I’ve ever come across. It is also one of the reasons I took a 60% pay cut to do it. The downside, however, is that the network integration is not where it should be and therefore there are a lot of technical issues several times a week that affect your attendance, and Key performance indicators. Even if you document each instance and back it up with data from singers on tracking system, leader ship either forgets or intentionally disregards respect when calculating your bonus and yearly raise.

Great flexibility, but less access to leadership making growth and connections more difficult, no longer paying for internet connectivity.

There are no disadvantages to the WAH structure. Cigna provides the ability to travel and do onsite meetings across their various locations.

I love working from home with easy software to install, wish we could use WiFi & laptops instead of desktops & direct Ethernet connection

Best- it’s available for certain positions Worst- definitely an emphasis on getting people back into offices despite all the various illnesses still floating around AND many of us still experiencing consistent childcare coverage. We’ve proven time & again that work can be done remotely/productively. Company tries to blame the reason for push to return in person to combat loneliness/ stress or w/e spin they’re trying for. This ignores the fact that many of us are stressed due to increased workloads, many paid barely at (or below) market rate despite company performing well and many of us non-sales personnel actually do better without the typical office interruptions.
