50% of the average of your final three years at the 20 year mark is pretty nice. Every year past 20, add 2.5% onto that (e.g. if you do 23 years you will get 57.5% of the average of your last three years of service). Starts immediately upon leaving the military, not at age 65 like many retirement plans.
