Walgreens employees who work 30+ hours per week can choose between two health insurance plans. Comprehensive health, dental and vision plans are available to employees for themselves and their dependents. Employees may choose to enroll in one of two Walgreens Consumer Driven Health Plans, which include an account called a Health Reimbursement Account to help pay for our employees’ healthcare needs. Employees can also choose between two dental programs with the Select option including Adult and Child orthodontia. A competitive and national vision program is also available. 2015 benefits will consist of a wide variety of medical, dental and vision options open to employees at the beginning of the new year.

Walgreens participates in an online exchange through AON and allows their employees to shop for coverage annually. The employer contribution to the plan is adequate for an individual, but the cost is significantly higher for an employee + dependents.

It is offered but I personally did not subscribe to it. I carried my own insurance outside of their offer.

Health insurance does go well with their pharmacies, zero copay, etc. in conjunction.

The price paid by employee for the coverage is relatively higher than what I have paid with other companies that were smaller and unrelated to the healthcare industry. The coverages are now standardized under ACA law which allows for better choices. However, the prescription coverage is now totally administered by the various external medical plans instead of by Walgreens. This seems odd for a pharmacy to do with it's own employees unless there really is a significant cost savings not to directly offer prescription services. They still do restrict pharmacy benefits to Walgreens pharmacies only.

Pretty well rounded and good value but there are better options at other employers
