23andMe Senior Software Engineer interview questions

The engineering manager called and asked about what my interests are. He then proceeded to introduce some of the works his team and other teams were working on. We discussed a bit about the resume at the end.

I made the mistake by doing their coding challenge without talking to someone first. I applied for the senior software engineer title through their website and I received a coding challenge from their recruiter. I did the coding challenge, which took me a few hours, and submitted it. I did not get any response for 1 week. So I emailed them to see if there were any updates. The recruiter emailed me back saying they have received it, and is still in the reviewing process. 2 weeks pass and still no answer. I emailed them for an update, and finally, I get an automated message saying they are not going to move forward with me. I had the desire to work here, and it sucks that I did the coding challenge for nothing. It would be nice to get a response in a reasonable time frame. Next time, I won't make the same mistake by doing the challenge without having to talk to someone first.
