ALPLA interview questions

One of the worst interviews I’ve been in. Something felt “off” as soon as I walked in the door. I was supposed to sign in using an automated system, but neither person I interviewed with were listed. They said it was just the three of us in the interview, but there was a speaker-like device (like a conference call speaker) near the table and every once in a while, I’d hear someone talking softly on it. There was supposed to be an additional interviewer (the Plant Manager?), so he may have been listening in, which isn’t a big deal; but the interviewers in the room claimed they didn’t know what was going on with the speaker. Instead of discussing my core competencies and how they’d apply to the open position, they focused mostly on scenario-based questions, some of which were oddly specific in a negative way. Thinking about it later, it made me question their operation. I only had a few minutes at the end to share relevant information about my abilities. They promised to follow-up, but they didn’t. I reached out after ten days and didn’t get a response. I later saw the position had been posted elsewhere ten months prior. Either the position had been filled/vacated within nine months or they’ve been trying to fill it for nearly a year. It’s been over a month since my interview, and the position is still open. The Vandalia location has multiple jobs posted for 30+ days across multiple employment websites. Something isn’t adding up with this company. Considering the strangeness of the interview, I wonder if it was just a training exercise or maybe they’re just trawling to see what’s out there. I recommend that you don’t waste your time if you see a posting over 30 days old. I’ve never seen an operational position open for that long.

Straightforward, communication was great it was an open conversation that we both ask questions. I left feeling good to what I was signing up to. They did follow up! The hiring process was easy and simple.
