A recruiter from Achievement First reached out to me on LinkedIn and suggested I apply for an open role. I debated doing so because I thought it was strange that I was being solicited to submit an application (typically, I receive requests to speak to someone about the open role). I completed the application (which took well over 30 minutes given there were 4 required open-ended application questions). I replied to the recruiter to let them know that I had sent in an application and did not hear anything back. One week later, I received a rejection email. Given the current climate, I understand employer's desire to include screening questions at the application process. However, this was the first time a recruiter had reached out to me to encourage me to apply only to have them not respond via LinkedIn messages and then reject me. To recruiting leadership, please evaluate if your approach here is providing the intended experience.
