Not a fan of AF's strict school environment or the interview process,The beginning stages of the process was as I expected: a week to hear back for a phone interview, a phone interview, then onto the final step: finalist day. On finalist day, you get a "tour" aka five minutes of walking around the school, then you observe classrooms, and get to teach a "guest lesson", wait eons for a critique, then you get critiqued. My critique was nowhere near as helpful as it could have been. The worst part is they are so full of themselves that they didn't want the applicant to interview anywhere else or accept any offers before seeing their school. If you expect me to put my life on hold the least you could do is be helpful, even if you do not like my style of teaching.
Note: I withdrew my application before I knew the outcome. I never do that, but honestly, even if I was selected, I wouldn't work for them for a million dollars.
