I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Acumen (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2016
Interview
Exhausting process. Takes all day. Also the process is not very transparent.
I would say prepare on how the work youve done is relevant to the position. They ask very detailed questions about each project.
Thanks for leaving us a review. We understand our in-person interview process may seem like a long day, but we want to make sure you meet with at least 3 to 5 researchers from different teams. We want you to leave fully informed about our company, current projects and feel that our company is a fit for you.
I applied online. I interviewed at Acumen (Burlingame, CA) in Jan 2017
Interview
Take-home exercise, phone-screen, hours-long on-site interview. The on-site interview included a timed written test on logic and statistics. The whole process is four hours long, during which I just sat in one room, and talked to a lot of people none of whom introduced themselves (Hi, my name is John Doe, I'm a Senior Blah Blah Blah here and been with the company for X years) before asking questions. Bizarre experience.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. We apologize you didn't have a positive on-site experience. I can't imagine why nobody introduced themselves, sorry for that. Hopefully the schedule with each individuals first name on it helped with that a bit.
We value a candidates time, especially if they are traveling across the country. We feel it's best for a candidate to meet with as many employees as possible so you hopefully have a better idea of our company and walk away with a clear picture of what to expect as an employee.
