I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Alaska Airlines (Seattle, WA) in Jan 2018
Interview
First interview was a video interview back in November 2017, it was a 6 questions interview pretty basic questions. A week later I got a email and then shortly after a phone call to go in for the on person interview!
I interviewed January 23rd with 62 other people! The interview was nice, started at 7:30am for check in and then at 8am they did orientation with a shirt video about Alaska. Then flight attendants and recruiters came in and introduced themselves. After that we waited for our name to be called for our individual interview or group interview the process lasted 9 hours. But while you're in the room waiting for your name to be called flight attendants are coming in and giving you the opportunity to ask questions and get to know them. (they have a say as well in who gets hired) make sure you're positive and friendly and introducing yourself. I had my individual interview at 10am and it lasted about 15 minutes I was interviewed by 2 recruiters and they asked me to describe my resume and just general questions to see how I worked with others. Like how I went above and beyond and what being remarkable means to me. It was a great experience! My group interview was at 2pm it consisted of 16 people and we all went into a room and were interviewed by a panel of 4 consisting of 2 recruiters and 2 flight attendants. We did a partner activity for introducing ourselves and then we did situational questions related to different work scenarios. My question was related to retail, "your store closes at 9pm and you closed your till down but we're still at the register and a lady came up at 9:06pm with 2 items she'd like to buy. What do you do?" I answered and then got asked 5 follow up questions by the panel and then sat back down! After that you go back to the main room where you wait for your name to be called by a recruiter where you find out your fate of getting the job or not. I wasn't called until 4pm. The process took 9 hours but was well worth it!

I applied online. I interviewed at Alaska Airlines (Seattle, WA) in Jan 2026
Interview
Two virtual interviews that included an AI interview, a personality questionnaire and a “test” of your ability to use resources provided to answer flight-related questions. After that you’re invited to an in-person interview.
The interview process is lengthy and in depth. They really dive deep. Overall, it was a great experience and ensured that they find the right fit. I did end up accepting and am awaiting training.
