      Flight Attendant Interview

      May 14, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Los Angeles, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Alaska Airlines (Los Angeles, CA) in Apr 2022

      Interview

I was able to receive my CJO after my face-to-face interview in Los Angeles, CA! I wanted to share my experience because Glassdoor has always helped me in previous job experiences (including this one!) A summary of the hiring day/event: 1. Arrived at the hotel and checked in 2. Airline reps gives a presentation 3. Group Activities 4. Q&A session with an actual Flight Attendant 5. You get called to do your first one-on-one interview while the Q&A session is happening. 6. If you did well in the first interview, you are called to the second and last interview. 7. Go home and celebrate I wanted to share main points that I think helped me ace this interview: 1. Dress the part - This is the first thing. Look like a flight attendant! Do not underestimate this. Please go all the way in terms of looking professional because that's your first impression and that will set a foundation of how likely you are to make it to get a CJO. 2. Smile! - We were allowed to not wear masks in this hiring day so utilize your smile but smile at the appropriate times and make sure it's natural. You don't have to smile literally at all times. 3. Eye contact - Whenever you speak to someone from the company, make eye contact as you are listening and as you are speaking. Eye contact is respect and also shows you are paying attention. They remember this so please do it and don't forget to blink hehe. 4. Prepare for questions - Find example of interview questions online such as YouTube and Glassdoor. Prep for them because you will be asked the same or similar questions at the actual interview. 5. Communicate and use team work in the group activity - They want to see you socialize and see if you are a sociable person. Also, they want to see if you can follow directions. For example, if they ask you "Say your name and a place you like to travel to", strictly answer those questions only and do not add anymore to that. In regards to the questions that will be asked: When answering them, sound natural and don't sound "rehearsed". Yes, you have to prepare answers but don't make it sound like it's obviously rehearsed. As a hiring ambassador told me at the event, it's just a conversation. They really helped me feel comfortable to the point that the one-on-one interviews felt more like a discussion with a friend as oppose to a "interview". Though comfortable, still be professional too. I have shared a few example of the questions that was actually asked at the event. There could always be the chance that none of these questions are asked at your event but they shouldn't be so different. Something last I wanted to mention was that when I received my CJO, they pulled out of the room to tell me that and then I went home. I heard before they wouldn't do it like that but that's how it was done. With that said, each hiring event that takes place may also differ from the previous one. Hope you guys can make it! God Bless you all.
