The initial communication with the company was through City Colleges of Chicago. There is an initiative between the City of Chicago and Allscripts to hire city college graduates. I was selected to participate in the interviewing process. There were resume/interviewing workshops, and informational sessions infused in the process. The interviewing phase, which was non traditional and refreshing, spanned over 3 days. The interview was non threatening, yet analytic and methodical. I liked the fact that you could not rehearse for this kind of interview and your true abilities would be challenged.
It seemed as if, the culture of the office or roles in which I interviewed, were professional and accessible. Everyone seemed to enjoy their career and talked about how they have succeed and experienced upward mobility. At the end of the day, I was pleased with the overall approach, accessibility, creativity, deliberateness and intentionality of the objective, in hiring city college graduates.
