I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Express (New York, NY) in Apr 2012
Interview
Behavioral questions all around and some questions around your resume. Amex is big on behavioral questions, because I realized Amex hires talent by their ability to navigate the organization; an all around good talent because you are expected to move roles every 2-3 years. The better you know the BlueBox, the more value you add to the company as you grow your career.
We have subject matter experts in the company (risk, finance, etc.), but the ones that drive/add $ to the company is the marketing/sales side at AXP and those are usually the ones that move around and have a brighter future in upward mobility. I may be biased because I have been in both Marketing and Merchant Services, so I only see how these sides of the business works and hires talent.
