Reached out to professor and then described my experience and courser that I have taken and then proceeded to get a scheduled interview, after which I received an offer, took a few months but persistence is key!

Asked my proficiency and interest in new media innovation and entrepreneurship. I was asked for my own ideas on new social media technologies and to share some ideas. It was one online application, followed by one in-person interview with the head of the lab.
