I applied for a high level development position at ASU Foundation in May, 2024. The process lasted 5 months with interview after interview. I finally was invited to fly in for an in-person visit toward the end of August. Met with dozens of staff, toured both campuses, dined with staff, etc. I was told that I would be contacted with their decision within two days. None of the dates they gave me in the entire process was ever accurate, so I did not expect this one to be. I was correct. On September 9, after speaking with the hiring team for months, and getting know them personally, I was sent a generic rejection email from the university. It wasn’t even signed.
I can’t think of any interview process I’ve been involved in that has been so flagrantly disrespectful of a candidate’s time or feelings. They also failed to reimburse me for travel costs that they promised to cover.
For candidates looking to work there, I would run as fast as possible in the other direction.
