I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Banfield Pet Hospital in Feb 2018
Interview
I saw the job listing for a veterinary assistant on Indeed and I went to their website and filled out the application. Exactly one week after submitting my application I got a call from the practice manager wanting to do a phone interview that lasted about 15 mins. She seemed to like me so went ahead and scheduled an in person interview a couple days later. My in person interview lasted about and hour and I was asked 15 questions most of which I needed to give real life experiences. After the interview I was given a quick walk through of the hospital area and again she seemed to like me so she told me to come back the following day for a 2 hour observation. At my observation I was not allowed to work because it was for the sole purpose of seeing how the hospital was ran and to see if the current employees liked me. When I left I was told that I should hear back the following day with their decision. The following day I got a call from the PM and she asked me how my observation went, I told her I enjoyed my visit and was very interested in the job. She told me everyone else liked me and offered me the position. I can't start for another two weeks while my background check, and my paperwork get processed and they order my scrubs, name tag, and xray badge. I had only ever worked for a private clinic so I was not used to the extensive interviewing process but it seems to be Banfield's standard to ensure they hire the best employees they can.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Most of the questions were "describe a time when..." questions, previous experience in the veterinary medicine field helped give me a one up.

Interview
The interview was in-person just like regular phone interviews. They first ask you to introduce yourself and describe your experiences. Then, they ask about certain skills like catheter placement, blood draw, and surgery monitoring. I think it lasted about 20-30 minutes.

Interview
The interview was conducted by both a hospital manager and veterinarian. The questions seemed pretty standard for this position. All in all a straightforward interview. The employees there seemed content.
